How to configure Content Filtering settings using Local UI

To configure the Content Filtering Settings in the RCVx3 device, please follow the steps outlined below.

1. Open a web browser and enter the URL of the RCVx3 device: 192.168.3.1.

2. If you are logging in for the first time, use the default credentials:

Username: celestial

Password: hellotickiot

 

 

 


3. Select Security from the Local Web Page.







4. After selecting Security Settings, click on Content Filtering as shown in the picture below to access the Content Filtering available under Security.

 

 




 

5. In the Content Filtering Settings, you can configure various options to manage and control access to online content effectively. These settings include:

  1. Basic Settings:
    • Filtering: Enable or Disable content filtering.
    • Default Policy: Set to Accept, allowing traffic by default unless specified otherwise.
  2. Filter List Upload & Download:
    • You can upload or download filter lists using a Local File option.
  3. Web URL Filter Settings:
    • Current Web URL Filters: Displays the list of configured URL filters.
    • Add a URL Filter: Enter specific URLs to be allowed or blocked (maximum of 16 rules).
  4. Web Host Filter Settings:
    • Current Website Host Filters: Displays the list of host filters based on keywords.
    • Add a Host (Keyword) Filter: Define keywords to block or allow specific website hosts (maximum of 16 rules).

Example Configuration:

  • Add a URL Filter:
    URL:
    www.example.com
    This rule allows or blocks access to the specified website depending on the configuration.
  • Add a Host (Keyword) Filter:
    Keyword: social
    This rule blocks or allows access to websites with the keyword "social" in their host name, such as socialmedia.com.

With these settings, administrators can ensure compliance with organizational policies, restrict access to harmful content, and maintain a secure and controlled browsing environment.

 








6. After completing the changes, click on the Reboot button to save and apply the changes.
