To configure Advanced Wireless settings in local web page please follow the steps below:
1. Open a web browser and enter the URL of the RCVx3 device: 192.168.3.1.
2. If you are logging in for the first time, use the default credentials:
Username: celestial
Password: hellotickiot
3. Select the Wireless option from the local page.
4. In the Wireless option, click
on Advanced and click on it to access the Advanced Wireless
Settings configuration.
5. Advanced Wireless Settings in RCVx3 Device
The Advanced Settings section in the Wireless configuration of the RCVx3 device provides a range of parameters that can be customized to optimize wireless performance. Below are the settings available:
a. BG Protection Mode:
o Select
Auto for automatic protection mode adjustment.
Example: Enable BG Protection Mode to improve performance in
environments with mixed 802.11b/g devices.
b. Beacon Interval:
o Specify
the interval in milliseconds (ms) for beacon transmission. The range is 20–999
ms, with a default of 100 ms.
Example: Set Beacon Interval to 200 ms to reduce beacon
transmission frequency and conserve bandwidth.
c. Data Beacon Rate (DTIM):
o Configure
the DTIM Interval, which determines the frequency of multicast traffic
delivery. The range is 1–255, with a default of 3.
Example: Use a DTIM Interval of 1 for applications
requiring frequent multicast updates.
d. Fragment Threshold:
o Set
the maximum frame size before fragmentation occurs. The range is 256–2346,
with a default of 2346.
Example: Reduce the Fragment Threshold to 1024 in
environments with high interference for better reliability.
e. RTS Threshold:
o Specify
the frame size that triggers RTS (Request to Send) signals. The range is 1–2347,
with a default of 2347.
Example: Use an RTS Threshold of 500 in networks with
frequent collisions.
f. TX Power:
o Adjust
the transmit power percentage. The range is 1–100%, with a default of 100%.
Example: Lower the TX Power to 50% in small areas to
minimize interference with other devices.
g. Short Preamble:
o Enable
or Disable short preamble for improved performance in compatible
devices.
Example: Enable Short Preamble for devices requiring faster
synchronization.
h. Short Slot:
o Enable or Disable short slot timing to enhance data transmission efficiency.
i. TX Burst:
o Enable or Disable TX burst mode to increase throughput for continuous data transfer.
j. Pkt_Aggregate:
o Enable or Disable packet aggregation to optimize data transmission.
k. Country Code:
o Select
the Country Code to configure region-specific wireless settings.
Example: Set Country Code to US for compliance with United
States regulations.
l. Support Channel:
o Configure the supported channels (e.g., Ch1–11) based on the region.
m. Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM Capable):
o Enable WMM Capable to prioritize multimedia traffic for better quality of service (QoS).
n. Multiple SSID:
o Configure up to four SSIDs (e.g., Multiple SSID1, Multiple SSID2) with specific settings for each SSID.
o. APSD Capable:
o Enable or Disable Automatic Power Save Delivery (APSD) for power-efficient operations on compatible devices.
By adjusting these Advanced Settings, users can tailor the wireless network's performance to meet specific requirements, such as reducing interference, optimizing data rates, or improving power efficiency.
6. After making the necessary changes in the Advanced
Settings, click the Save button to apply and save your changes.
