How to configure Management settings using Local UI

To configure the Management in the RCVx3 device, please follow the steps outlined below.

1. Open a web browser and enter the URL of the RCVx3 device: 192.168.3.1.

2. If you are logging in for the first time, use the default credentials:

Username: celestial

Password: hellotickiot


 

 

3. Select Administration from the Local Web Page.





 

 

4. In the Administration section, select the Management option to access the Management Settings.

 






5. In the Management Settings, you can configure a variety of administrative and operational options for the RCVx3 device, ensuring secure and efficient management. The available settings include:

a. Save Config File: Save the current configuration for backup or restoration.

b. Config File Upload & Download: Upload or download configuration files using the Local File option.

Administrator Settings:

  • Password Reset: Reset the administrator password and username.
    • User Type: Admin User
    • New User Name: e.g., celestial
    • New Password: Set a new password (maximum length is 25 characters).
    • Confirm Password: Re-enter the new password for confirmation.

Language:

  • Language: Select the interface language, e.g., English.

VPN Access:

  • Management Using VPN: Enable or Disable VPN-based device management.

Web Access:

  • Remote Web Login: Enable or Disable remote login for web management.
  • Https Web Access: Enable or Disable secure web access.
  • Local Web Port: e.g., 80
  • Web Port: e.g., 80
  • Web SSL Port: e.g., 443
  • Web Idle Timeout: Set the session timeout (0–60 minutes).
  • Allowed Remote IP: Define IP addresses allowed for remote access (e.g., 0.0.0.0).

Telnet Access:

  • Remote Telnet: Enable or Disable remote Telnet access.
  • Telnet Port: e.g., 23
  • Allowed Remote IP: Define IP addresses for Telnet access.

Host Name:

  • HostName: Assign a hostname, e.g., RCVx3.

Time/Date Settings:

  • NTP Settings:
    • NTP Enable: Enable or Disable Network Time Protocol.
    • Option 42: Enable or Disable Option 42 settings.
    • Current Time: Set the current time, e.g., 2024-12-05 03:34:10.
    • Sync with Host: Sync the device clock with the host.
    • Time Zone: Select the time zone, e.g., (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time.
    • Primary NTP Server: e.g., pool.ntp.org.
    • Secondary NTP Server: e.g., us.pool.ntp.org.
    • NTP Synchronization Interval: e.g., 60 minutes.
  • Daylight Saving Time: Enable or Disable daylight saving time.

System Log Settings:

  • Syslog Settings:
    • Enable Syslog: Enable or Disable system logs.
    • Syslog Level: Set the log level, e.g., INFO.
    • Enable specific logs such as:
      • Login Syslog
      • Call Syslog
      • Net Syslog
      • Device Management Syslog
      • Device Alarm Syslog
      • Kernel Syslog
      • Remote Syslog (e.g., Disable by default).
    • Remote Syslog Server: Define the server for remote syslog.

Factory Default Settings:

  • Factory Default Lock: Enable or disable the factory reset lock.
  • Reset to Factory Default: Reset the device to its factory default settings.

Example Configuration:

  • Web Access: Enable Https Web Access, set the Web SSL Port to 443, and set the Web Idle Timeout to 5 minutes for secure and efficient web management.
  • NTP Settings: Enable NTP, use pool.ntp.org as the primary server, and set synchronization to 60 minutes to maintain accurate time.

These settings provide a comprehensive framework for managing the RCVx3 device, ensuring operational efficiency and robust administrative control.

 







6. After making all the necessary changes in the Management Settings, click on the Save & Apply button to save and apply the changes.
