How to configure Filtering settings using Local UI

To configure the Filtering Settings in the RCVx3 device, please follow the steps outlined below.

1. Open a web browser and enter the URL of the RCVx3 device: 192.168.3.1.

2. If you are logging in for the first time, use the default credentials:

Username: celestial

Password: hellotickiot

 

 

 

 

3. Select Security from the Local Web Page.








4. After selecting Security Settings, click on Filtering Settings as shown in the picture below to access the Filtering Settings available under Security.

 

 

 

5. In the Filtering Settings, you can configure various settings to control network traffic and enhance security. These include:

a. Basic Settings:

    • Filtering: Enable or Disable filtering.
    • Default Policy: Set to Drop, meaning any packet that does not match the defined rules will be automatically dropped.

b. IP/Port Filter Settings:

    • Type of Traffic: Specify the traffic type (e.g., Input).
    • MAC Address, Destination IP Address, and Source IP Address: Define the specific addresses for filtering.
    • Protocol: Select the protocol (default is NONE).
    • Destination Port Range and Source Port Range: Define port ranges for the traffic.
    • Action: Choose the action to be taken (e.g., Accept).
    • Comment: Add notes or descriptions for the rule (maximum of 32 rules can be configured).

c. Current MAC/IP/Port Filtering Rules in the System:

    • Displays a table of existing rules with details such as Type of Traffic, MAC Address, Destination IP Address, Source IP Address, Protocol, Destination Port Range, Source Port Range, Action, and Comment.

Example Configuration:

  • Type of Traffic: Input
  • MAC Address: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E
  • Destination IP Address: 192.168.1.100
  • Source IP Address: 10.0.0.50
  • Protocol: TCP
  • Destination Port Range: 80-443
  • Source Port Range: Any
  • Action: Accept
  • Comment: Allow web traffic

Packets not matching any defined rules will be dropped by default, as indicated by the Default Policy. For traffic marked as WAN, any undefined rules will also be dropped for additional security.
