Introduction
The QikCell
TK920+ is a 4G LTE VoIP desktop phone designed for flexibility and
high-quality communication. It allows you to make voice calls over a 4G network
or through a wired Ethernet connection, making it ideal for offices, remote
locations, and home use. This guide will walk you through setting up your
device and utilizing its features effectively.
What’s in
the Box?
- QikCell TK920+ VoIP Phone: The main device, pre-equipped
with a 4.3” color LCD and multiple programmable keys.
- Power Adapter: Used to power the device from
a wall outlet.
- Ethernet Cable: A physical connection for
network access, should you choose not to use the 4G LTE functionality.
Setting
Up Your QikCell TK920+ VoIP Phone
1.
Connect Power
- Powering the Device: Plug the power adapter into
the phone’s DC 5V port, and then connect it to a wall socket. Once plugged
in, the phone will power up automatically.
- Why This Matters: This step ensures the phone
receives the necessary electrical power to operate, and it is crucial for
all features to function correctly.
2. Insert
a SIM Card (Optional for 4G)
- 4G LTE Functionality: If you plan to use the phone
over a mobile 4G network instead of a wired Ethernet connection, insert a
SIM card into the designated slot.
- Note: Ensure the SIM card is
activated by your mobile carrier before inserting it into the phone.
- Why This Matters: Using the 4G LTE connection
allows the phone to operate without needing a wired network. This feature
is particularly useful in environments without stable Ethernet access,
such as remote offices or temporary setups.
3.
Ethernet Connection (If not using 4G)
- Wired Network Access: If you prefer using a wired
network, connect the included Ethernet cable from your network router into
the phone’s Ethernet port. The phone will automatically detect the
connection and configure itself for VoIP calls over the internet.
- Why This Matters: An Ethernet connection
provides stable internet access for high-quality voice calls. It’s a
reliable alternative to using cellular networks, especially in locations
with poor 4G LTE signal.
4. Power
On the Phone
- Startup Process: After connecting to a power
source, press the power button if the device doesn’t automatically turn
on. You’ll see the startup sequence displayed on the phone’s 4.3” color
LCD screen.
- Why This Matters: The phone needs to go through
its boot process, which sets up the software and network connectivity.
5.
Configure Your VoIP Account
- SIP (Session Initiation
Protocol) Account Setup: To enable the phone for making and receiving VoIP
calls, you need to configure it with your VoIP provider’s settings:
- Navigate to the Settings
menu using the phone’s soft keys.
- Enter the required SIP
credentials, such as the VoIP Server Address, Username, and
Password provided by your VoIP service provider.
- Save the settings and restart
the phone if prompted.
- Why This Matters: SIP is the protocol that
allows your phone to connect to the internet and make VoIP calls. Proper
setup is crucial for the phone to function correctly.
6.
Phonebook and Speed Dial Setup
- Adding Contacts: Use the Phonebook menu
to store and organize your contacts. This ensures that you can easily call
frequently contacted individuals without manually dialing each time.
- Assign contacts to speed dial
buttons via the Programmable Keys feature.
- Why This Matters: Speed dials and a
well-organized phonebook simplify daily use, saving time and reducing
dialing errors.
