5. LAN Settings Overview for RCVx3 Device

The LAN settings on the RCVx3 device provide a comprehensive configuration interface to manage your local network effectively. Below is a detailed explanation of each available setting:

  • Local IP Address: The IP address assigned to the RCVx3 device for local network access. For example, 192.168.3.1.
  • Local Subnet Mask: Defines the subnet for the local network. For example, 255.255.255.0.
  • Local DHCP Server: Allows you to enable or disable the DHCP server functionality on the device. This controls whether the device assigns IP addresses automatically to connected devices.
  • DHCP Start Address: Specifies the starting IP address in the range assigned by the DHCP server. For example, 192.168.1.100.
  • DHCP End Address: Specifies the last IP address in the range assigned by the DHCP server. For example, 192.168.1.200.
  • Primary DNS: The primary DNS server used for resolving domain names. For example, 8.8.8.8.
  • Secondary DNS: The secondary DNS server, used as a backup. For example, 8.8.4.4.
  • Client Lease Time (0–86400s): Defines how long an IP address is leased to a client device in seconds. For instance, 3600s means the lease will last for 1 hour.
  • DHCP Static Allotment: Allows static allocation of IP addresses to specific devices based on their MAC address. You can add, edit, or delete entries in this list.
    • For example, to assign 192.168.1.50 to a device with MAC address 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E, you would add this entry in the static allotment section.
  • DNS Proxy Switch: Enables or disables DNS proxy functionality. When enabled, the device can act as a DNS proxy for the local network.
